Terms of Service

Last Updated: March 1, 2026

Welcome to leafbrowser.org.

These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our website and the digital archiving services provided herein. By accessing this website and utilizing our repository to download software payloads (including but not limited to the ChromeOS .zip archives and Android .apk files), we assume you accept these terms and conditions in full. Do not continue to use leafbrowser.org if you do not agree to take all of the terms and conditions stated on this page.

1. Strict Non-Affiliation & Brand Disclaimer

leafbrowser.org operates strictly as an independent, fan-made educational resource and digital software archive.

We are NOT associated, affiliated, authorized, maintained, or endorsed by:

  • Sam Lanning: The original creator and developer of the legacy Leaf Browser Chrome Application (v0.1.2 Alpha).
  • M2216 Developer: The creator of the identically named Android mobile application (v1.0.1).
  • Google LLC: The developers of ChromeOS and the Android operating system.

All product names, logos, and brands are the property of their respective owners. The use of these names, logos, and brands on this website is for identification, educational, and archival purposes only.

2. Institutional Liability & “Ban Risk” Waiver

A significant portion of the software archived on this site—specifically the PC/ChromeOS legacy application utilizing the <webview> sandbox architecture—is frequently sought after for its ability to bypass standard Document Object Model (DOM) tracking extensions (such as GoGuardian, Blocksi, or Securly) deployed by educational institutions and corporate IT departments.

By downloading and installing this software, you explicitly agree to the following:

  • Assumption of Risk: You are utilizing network evasion tools entirely at your own risk.
  • Zero Liability: leafbrowser.org, its webmasters, and its hosting providers hold absolutely zero liability for any disciplinary actions, academic suspensions, corporate reprimands, or physical device lockouts resulting from the deployment of this software on managed hardware.
  • Acceptable Use Policies: We strongly advise all users to review and comply with their local institutional, corporate, or educational Acceptable Use Policies (AUP) before sideloading unauthorized Chrome applications.

3. The “Smart Bridge” Educational Clause

Due to the fragmented nature of the Leaf Browser ecosystem, the software does not exist universally across all operating systems.

For platforms where a native application does not exist (specifically iOS/iPhone environments), we provide educational installation guides advising the configuration of Safari web profiles or third-party alternative emulators (such as “We Browser”). We do not host, distribute, or claim to own native .exe or .ipa files unless officially released by the original developer. All bypass guides and bridging tutorials provided on this site are for informational and data-saving purposes only.

4. Technical Installation & The “Uninstall” Disclaimer

We provide unmodified, cryptographically verified installation payloads. However, interacting with sideloaded applications requires technical competency.

  • Mobile Environments: Modified applications or alternate APK versions cannot coexist with original Play Store versions sharing an identical package signature. By downloading the native Android APK, you acknowledge that you must uninstall any official or conflicting apps first to prevent standard Android OS "App Not Installed" syntax errors.
  • ChromeOS Environments: You are responsible for managing your hardware’s RAM limitations. We are not responsible for system crashes, “Black Screen” render failures, or CPU throttling resulting from overloading nested tabs on low-spec hardware.

5. License to Use (Open Source Provisions)

Unless otherwise stated, the software provided on this site adheres to its original licensing agreements:

  • The PC ChromeOS Application: Operates under the permissive MIT License, allowing for free distribution, modification, and private use without restriction.
  • Website Content: The written tutorials, guides, troubleshooting accordions, and CSS/HTML design elements on leafbrowser.org are the intellectual property of leafbrowser.org and may not be republished or scraped without explicit written permission.

6. As-Is Software Provision

All archived files (.apk and .zip) are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. While we utilize VirusTotal APIs to ensure our payloads have 0/64 malware detections, leafbrowser.org does not warrant that the software will function uninterrupted, be completely error-free, or remain compatible with future ChromeOS or Android OS updates.

7. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. By continuing to use the website after modifications are published, you agree to be bound by the updated terms.
